HAPPY NEWS & SAD NEWS
Today we found out some both sad and happy news. Miss B has got a promotion at George Street Normal School. Next year she will be the Middle Team Leader teaching Year 3&4 children in Room 11. This is happy news as Miss B will still be at school but we also felt a bit sad that Miss B will not be in the Models next year. Miss B has told us that we can come and visit her in Room 11 at anytime.
Mr Galloway has sent home a letter to all of the Year 1 and 2 children to inform parents of the changes next year. Model 2B will be getting a lovely teacher called Mrs Joanne Henderson. Mrs Henderson currently teaches in Room 5 on the Junior side of our school. She will come and visit our classroom soon.

MRS O'S NEW PUPPY
Hi M2B,
I was just looking at the blog and seeing how cute Jessica's new puppy is and I thought I'd share a picture of my new puppy Monty. He is a chocolate labrador (like my other dog Poppy) and is 3 months old. He is lots of fun and he enjoyed his first trip to the beach today. He gets on really well with Poppy and they like to snuggle up together on their bed.
I hope everyone is working hard in M2B and keeping up the great writing! I miss your smiley faces!
Love Mrs O

CHARACTER COUNTS IN M2B!
This week is 'Character Counts Week'. The theme of the week is that 'your choices are your responsibility' (To Kowhiritanga - To kawenga). In Model 2B we have been talking about why having a strong character is important. Have a read of our great ideas:
Character is important because...
* it helps you learn
* if you didn't have character, you would be naughty
* it helps you be good at school
* it is who you are
* it let's our school shine
* it make you nice and helpful
* it can make you happy
* it makes you proud
* it helps people learn to do the right thing
* once you know it you can always use it
* it helps you not annoy anyone

MULTIPLICATION
In Model 2B we are learning how to multiply. First we are learning to skip count and make groups of objects. Once we are really good at that we use our fingers to skip count and work out multiplication equations. We are getting pretty clever. See the different ways we showed 10 x 3 using maths equipment.
